Return to Eden

Return to Eden

Rewriting the story we inherited (and choosing different conditions for the year ahead)

There’s something about the final days of the year that makes old stories louder.

Not the ones we tell at dinner tables.
The deeper ones — the ones that sit behind our nervous systems like hidden operating systems.

And one of the biggest is the Garden of Eden.

Even if you’re not religious. Even if it’s “just myth.”
Myths don’t have to be literal to be powerful — they live in the collective field, shaping how we see women, desire, choice, blame, and belonging.

And Christmas… Christmas has a fever to it.

A collective spell that whispers: do more, be more, give more.
More meals. More money. More social energy. More “gratitude.” More smiling.

For many women, it isn’t even the events themselves — it’s the invisible load behind them:
the planning, the emotional labour, the smoothing of edges, the holding of everybody’s experience.

And somewhere in that fever, something ancient wakes up:

That reflex to make it your fault if anything feels off.

Eden is the archetypal place where everything is meant to be “right” — ceasefires, peace treaties, families smiling, people behaving… at least on the surface. Christmas sells us a week of Eden, and many of us try to live up to it… and then wonder why we feel exhausted, or vaguely guilty, when we can’t.

And beneath that is the Eden story many of us inherited as a template:

A woman.
A choice.
A fall.
A punishment.

The echo of it shows up everywhere — women blamed for men’s behaviour, women shamed for wanting, women punished for knowing, women carrying the emotional labour and still being labelled “the problem.”

And it shows up inside women too, as self-policing and self-doubt and that familiar old thought:

It’s probably my fault.

What’s fascinating is that versions of this pattern appear across cultures — different stories, different names — but similar themes:
female curiosity becomes danger, female choice becomes punishment, female power becomes something to fear.

But there’s another way to read it.

What if the “fall” was never about women being the problem?

What if it was about humans leaving intimacy with life — leaving presence, leaving the body, leaving the natural instinct of what is true?

What if Eden isn’t a crime scene… but a memory?

A symbol for wholeness — before shame, before exile, before we split ourselves into “good” and “bad” and tried to earn love like it’s a wage.

Because here’s what I know at the end of the year:

Most of us don’t need another resolution.
We need better conditions.

Conditions that regulate the nervous system.
Conditions that let the body soften.
Conditions that make it safer to be in our own skin.

This is why I’m ending the year with a gift:

Return to Eden (Guided Meditation)

It’s not religious. It’s a reclamation — a nervous-system exhale, a soft remembering, a place where the old template can loosen its grip (even if only by 2%).

Because sometimes change doesn’t begin with a revolution.
It begins with a breath.

And as we stand on the brink of a new year, I want to offer a gentle, practical question:

What would it look like to build Eden as a practice — not a fantasy?

Not a perfect life.
A steadier one.

That’s exactly what my course series Energy Oasis: From Soul to Sanctuary is designed for.

  • Part 1 — Awaken & Shine: building your inner steadiness and regulation
  • Part 2 — Sanctuary Living: clearing and reshaping your home so your nervous system can actually rest there

And because January is when people over-promise and under-support themselves, I’m doing this differently:

New Year Offer (ends 31 January 2026, Brisbane time)

Purchase Energy Oasis (Part 1, Part 2, or Bundle) and receive 1 month of Quantum Upgrade Membership free — so you can integrate with support (Sanctuary Sessions Live + Member Spotlight Hot Seat + Emergency Clearing ToolKit + community).
